Climate Futures is an experienced initiator and manager of low-carbon projects for communities, regions and organisations.

We have the experience and skills to create, implement, monitor and assess a broad range of environmental initiatives, whatever the scale.

Strategy and vision

Climate Futures can conceptualise groundbreaking and pragmatic approaches to environmental engagement. We recognise that all organisations have different issues and objectives, and will analyse your particular needs to create a strategic programme that will provide the framework for a successful environmental outcome. We have demonstrated this by the ‘selling in’, co-founding and project direction of the world’s first carbon neutral city programme in Newcastle, which was mentioned in Sir David King’s book, The Hot Topic, as an example of best practice in the partnership approach.

Our experience is not limited to the UK. We also work overseas. Janeemo is a community-led ethical biofuels programme, in Lower Shire, Southern Malawi. Climate Futures was successful co-bidder to the Scottish Government for this £340k flagship programme. We are responsible for the business plan and communication. And we are also doing a fair bit of project management.

Fundraising

We offer advanced skills in securing complex funding packages from groups of partners for environmental programmes. Best demonstrated by five years’ core funding for Newcastle: £400k for the Climate Dome, £110k for Climate Change: Cultural Change arts programme; £35k for research programme and numerous consultancy clients.

People and partner management

Every project is different and needs a personal approach. We understand, first hand, the subtleties of working with partners with varying objectives. These may include businesses, the public sector, charities, the media and the general public.

We specialise in the complex task of coordinating groups with differing objectives and buy-in. Examples include the management of three core sponsors for Newcastle, five sponsors/partners for Climate Dome, and 15 sponsors/partners for Climate Change: Cultural Change, as well as a team of two full-time and two part-time staff and numerous contractors.

We can professionally manage budgets and cashflow for your project, as evidenced by the successful financial management of all previous projects.
